Be strong. Be you.

Joshua was old. Like really old. People guess he was around 60 when he entered the promise land. So our story basically starts with Moses death and God goes here Joshua, you’re old but have all these people to lead. Its basically like the queen and charles…

After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. – Joshua 1 v 1-2

But good old daddy God comes a long and goes,Joshua, I know you’re old, you’re weak and you have never done this before but you know what… I am with you always.  Till the end of your days.

For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.

“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. – J0shua 1 v 6-7

God didn’t leave him to just get on with it. He carefully planned, loved and stretched Joshua so he could do it, even when he thought he couldn’t. He does that for us too!

God gave Joshua three simple steps to allow him to step into all God had for him and for us too

1) He released Joshua. – After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant Sometimes God releases you in simple ways, like a small whisper or killing a giant. Other times he has to shift mountains in your life. Although uncomfortable trust he knows the way for he does.

2) He reminded him – I promise you what I promised Moses” Remember who God is and what he has done for you. Remind yourself of the simple truths because they are what will get you through the deep valleys.

3) He commanded him. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The word is life giving. Hope filling. Life reviving. It pours Gods heart into our hearts. READ IT! Let its truth speak over your life and you will see mountains move.

God speaks all of this over Joshua but also over us today he wants you to know that:

I will not fail you or abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

All my love.
