So think of a perfect place created just for you. Mine would be ice cream land. strawberry ice-cream and marshmallows EVERYWHERE!

This is what is going on in Numbers 14. Twelve men sent out on a mission to the promise land God had designed for their families and all of their nation. The men came back and each repoted their own stories of events. Some were scared of the people who lived in the land, yet Caleb told the people that with God’s strength they could surely do it. Which is so true. But the people were scared. They cried loudly to the lord and wanted to go back to slavery in Egypt. Caleb persisted “If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

10 But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites.

Then God showed up. Which changed everything. God honours truthful living. He honours people who put their own diffs behind the needs of the people. Caleb went from being a dead man to a honoured man. I am sure Caleb was going mad. Like imagine seeing a big scoop of strawberry ice cream and because of the fear of your people you can’t have it. God wanted them to go to the promise land. But fear and arguments got in the way. The Israelites changed from a free people to a fearful people. Why? because they lost sight of who their God is. They focused on the problem instead of the solution, God! Focus yourselves on Christ today and he will surely bring you through because the things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace. In numbers 14 fearful people didn’t get to step into all God had for them, but faithful people did. Be faithful today. You are enough, because he is enough.

All my love x
