Friday, Fri-YAY

Yet the rescuing gift is not exactly parallel to the death-dealing sin. If one man’s sin put crowds of people at the dead-end abyss of separation from God, just think what God’s gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do! There’s no comparison between that death-dealing sin and this generous, life-giving gift. The verdict on that one sin was the death sentence; the verdict on the many sins that followed was this wonderful life sentence. If death got the upper hand through one man’s wrongdoing, can you imagine the breathtaking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides?
Romans 5:15-17 MSG

God planned your rescue before you even knew or wanted Him. As I marvel today at the Love of the Father I think back to a little girl sitting on a porch step feeling isolated, and all alone. I think to who or where I would be if his crazy grace hadn’t came and rescued me.

But the story of the cross is so much bigger than just us. The victory it wins is so much larger than we could ever imagine or believe. Jesus’ death means more than what we think it does.

Stumbling a long a road many had travelled before, murderers, human hunters, the worst in all of the land. Knowing the only crime you committed was loving too much, serving too much, being there too much, healing too much.

Upright for days untill your body bled out, you go into shock or you simply give up. The story of Jesus’ death is not cosy. It’s not pretty. It’s brutal. Jesus didnt just die for us. He endured pain to the extreme for you.

All you have to do to get the realities of the crucifixion is type it into Google. Arms pulled out of sockets, ripped skin due to nails, broken legs and spikes.

Today as you walk around understand the gift that your salvation truly is. Understand that the price that bought it wasn’t too high for God even though it would have been for many. Understand what you carry and above all understand the Love that God has for you x
